A software engineer who thinks beyond the code.
I’m Umair Younus, a full-stack software engineer and technical consultant with 9+ years of hands-on experience building websites, ecommerce stores, custom applications and integrations for businesses in different industries and markets.
My work started with hands-on web development and grew into something broader: helping clients understand technical problems, make better implementation decisions, improve existing systems and build products that can keep evolving after launch.

Senior Software Engineer & Technical Consultant
From developer to technical partner
I still enjoy getting into the code, but the value I bring today is broader than development alone. Clients often come to me with a specific task — a Shopify customization, a WordPress problem, a Laravel feature, an API integration or a slow website. The first job is to understand what they are actually trying to achieve.
Sometimes the right answer is exactly what was requested; sometimes there is a simpler or more reliable solution. That approach has led to long-term relationships where I support not just individual tasks, but the wider technical side of a business: websites, ecommerce operations, custom software, integrations, infrastructure and ongoing improvements.
Traditional Code Delivery
Typical developer or outsourced vendor execution focused purely on closed tickets without contextual accountability.
- removeBuilds strictly to the verbatim request, even if it creates technical debt or fails business goals.
- removeDisappears after delivery; zero proactive monitoring or post-release architectural integrity.
- removeHidden overhead: complex jargon, unexplained delays, and finger-pointing during system outages.
Strategic Technical Ownership
Engineering leadership aligned with operational reliability, conversion rates, and sustainable scale.
- check_circleEvaluates the root operational objective to propose lean, cost-efficient, and maintainable solutions.
- check_circleDirect senior accountability across code, cloud infrastructure, third-party APIs, and deployment pipelines.
- check_circleTransparent, asynchronous communication with actionable recommendations and zero agency fluff.
Senior involvement without traditional agency layers
You work directly with me throughout the project. I lead the technical direction, communication and delivery. When the scope needs more capacity or specialist skills, I bring in trusted people for areas such as UI/UX design, additional development, SEO, content or digital growth.
The goal is not to look like a large agency. It is to give clients the right team for the work while keeping ownership and communication clear.

What matters to me in a project
Five fundamental guardrails that dictate how I engage, architect software, and manage delivery.
Clarity over complexity
The best solution is not necessarily the one with the most technology. It is the one that solves the problem reliably and remains understandable.
Ownership
If I am leading the technical work, I want to understand how the pieces fit together and what could affect the outcome.
Communication
Clients should know what is happening, what is blocked and what decision is needed — without having to chase for updates.
Maintainability
A quick fix that creates a bigger problem later is rarely a good fix. I try to build with the next change in mind.
Long-term relationships
Many of the best projects evolve over time. I prefer becoming a reliable technical partner rather than disappearing after launch.
